Next Steps

New Here?

We're so glad you're here! We hope that our website gives you a glimpse into the life of our community, and on this page you can find details on how to take your next step in committing to the life of our church.

Whether you have questions about our church, needs you would like share, or are looking to get connected, our leaders would love to connect with you, and we'd encourage you to fill out a Next Step Request below or reach out to one of our leaders after service this weekend. We look forward to meeting you in person.

How can I get connected?
  • The best way to experience the life of our church is by attending our Sunday morning worship gathering. During this gathering, we join together to worship God and enjoy the grace he has brought to us in Jesus, a grace that transforms all of life. Even if you are skeptical toward Christianity and its claims, we would invite you to explore with us the answers faith in Jesus offers and to see the effect it is having on our community.
  • If you would like to learn more about The Journey Bayless, join us for our next Newcomer Lunch! During this short class, you will have a chance to meet some of our leaders, learn more about who we are we, and find out how you might commit to the life of our church.
  • Once you are ready commit to the Journey Bayless, we would invite you to begin our membership process. You can find more details on our Membership page on why we emphasize church membership. But, if you have questions about this process or would like to move forward in this commitment, please fill out our Next Step Request, and one of our leaders will get in touch with you soon.
  • In addition to connecting with one another throughout the week, our Groups are the front lines of care, community, and growth in the life of our church.  Two of the main environments you can experience this at the Journey Bayless are in Community Groups and Bible Studies, and you can find more details by visiting our Groups page or by filling out a Next Step Request.
Do I really need to commit to a church?

In many ways, our culture dislikes commitment, to anything really, let alone tying ourself down to a particular church. And yet, it is one of the most important priorities a Christian can make. In joining Christians to his Church by faith in him (Eph. 2:11-22), Jesus intends for Christians to join themselves to a local church where they can help other Christians to follow him and be helped by the same.

While we don’t see “church membership” explicitly mentioned in the Bible, we do see the metaphor of a body and its “members” used to describe the relationships believers have to Jesus and to one another (See Rom. 12:3-8, 1 Cor. 12:12-31). And, we believe church membership is the practical application of these principles and essential for us in growing in our love and obedience to Christ together. In essence, church membership helps Christians to make the commitments Jesus intends for them to make as a family adopted by God to make disciples of Jesus together.

At the Journey Bayless, we want to welcome, love, include, and care for all people regardless of where they are with God or whether or not they are members. However, membership helps us effectively define who our church is, and even if God doesn’t lead you to join our church, we would encourage every Christian to find a healthy, Christ-centered church to commit to.

Find more details on membership including how you might join our church on our Membership page or by filling out a Next Step Request.

How can I find out about upcoming events?

Our Church Center App has the most updated information for all of the ways to connect.

View it on your browser or download the app. Search and select for The Journey South County, then go to the “Register” tab in the bottom menu to see all of the events we have coming up.

We generally have a variety of events on our calendar that give us an opportunity to eat, serve, and/or have fun together.

See you soon!

How can I get connected to a Pastor?

Filling out the Next Step request (through the link above) is still the best way to connect directly with one of our Pastors.
By choosing the “I would like to talk to a Pastor” option, one of our Pastors will reach out to you as soon as possible (usually within a week).
