Sunday Gatherings

Oh, magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together!
Psalm 34:3

Why do we gather?

The purpose of our Sunday Gatherings is to regularly engage in a unique time of encountering Jesus by remembering and rehearsing the gospel story through words, music, teaching, scripture, prayer, and sacraments with the goal of being formed into a counter-formational community of disciples who love being with Jesus, sacrificially serve one another, and are convicted and empowered to go into our contexts practicing all that was just rehearsed.

When and where is Sunday Service?

8512 Morganford Rd.
St. Louis, MO 63123

Sundays @ 10:00 AM

What should I expect when I visit?

Located just off of Highway 55 and Bayless Ave on Morganford Rd, you will find a warm welcome, a joy-filled and relaxed environment, a multi-generational congregation, opportunities to connect with the life of our church, Christ-centered worship, and biblical preaching which emphasizes the good news of Jesus Christ.

Our desire is that you come as you are, enjoy a hot cup of coffee (or tea, or hot chocolate), find a seat in the auditorium and experience the love of Christ in community in a very real and life-changing way.

What are services like?

In a typical service, you will experience songs both new and old; public and private prayer; public Scripture reading; a sermon from the Bible focused on Jesus; and the Lord’s Supper for Christians to remember Jesus’ death until he comes again.

Services typically last about 80-90 minutes, with plenty of time before and after for conversations, prayer, and enjoying one another’s company. And, whether you are a regular attender or newcomer, there are always leaders up front near the stage at the end of the service to talk to you, pray with you, and help you in any way they can.

What is the teaching like?

We believe God’s Word is ever-relevant to the real issues that real people face in their daily lives, and to experience the hope God offers, we take seriously what he has revealed about himself,  about us, and about the world we live in. For this reason, we primarily preach through books of the Bible, verse-by-verse,  drawing attention to Jesus as the culmination of its story.

We also recognize that belief can be hard and so the teaching is not just addressed to believers but to skeptics as well, looking to explore the answers the Christian faith offers to our questions, doubts, objections, and skepticism.

Are my kids welcome?

Jesus wanted all of the children to come to Him, and we feel the same way about your kids. Our hope is that your young ones will sing and pray right along with the rest of us, and we welcome all children to join us for our corporate worship service.

During the 10 a.m. service, Journey Kids welcomes young children up to 5th grade to hear age-appropriate teaching from the Bible in classrooms specifically designed to foster joy, peace, and development. If you are checking your child(ren) in for the first time, it is best to arrive 15 minutes before the service begins, and one of our Journey Kids hosts will be happy to help you register your child(ren).
